A: The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Born in 1980 when a group of caring people helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 69 chapters in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants more than 13,000 wishes a year, or one wish every 41 minutes. A: The CARSTAR SuperStang Muscle Tour is a national fundraising effort to raise funds and support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The CARSTAR SuperStang Muscle Tour will make approximately 40 appearances at automobile shows, community events and CARSTAR locations throughout the country. Q: What is the CARSTAR SuperStang?
A: The CARSTAR SuperStang is the re-creation of a unique 1967 Shelby Super Snake Mustang created by the Ford Motor Company but never marketed to the public. Jeff Yergovich, owner of R&A Motorsports, the country’s leading restorer of Shelby Mustangs, oversaw and supported the renovation of the vehicle. The automobile was renovated at the CARSTAR collision repair shop in Riverside, Kan., and R&A Motorsports facility in Lees Summit, Mo.
Q: What are the specs of the renovated CARSTAR SuperStang?
A: The basic platform is a 1967 Mustang with a 9” 31 Spline Traction Lock rear end. The car comes with 15” K
elsey-Hayes MagStar wheels and Goodyear 235 15” tires, which are larger than the 14” tires used on standard 1967 Mustangs. There are two bucket seats in front and a fold-down rear seat. The steering is original 1967 16:1 power steering. The Super’Stang has a 468/428 FE Stroker powerplant with special aluminum heads and an aluminum intake manufactured by Shelby Automotive. It also features an original 4-speed top loader transmission, 11 ½” heavy duty clutch and the original 1967 Kelsey-Hayes four-caliper disc brakes, which were a standard feature on Mustang GTs from Ford. The suspension system uses Koni Shocks on the front and rear with a heavy duty 1” front sway bar. The chassis is a 2-point factory roll bar with original safety belts.
Q: How will money be raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation?
A: The tour will end with the sale of the CARSTAR Super‘Stang at an auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., in January 2009, with proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In addition, funds raised through the 18-month tour and through individual CARSTAR Collision Service shops will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Participating CARSTAR locations will give away Make-A-Wish magnetic metallic Wish Stars to customers for their support.

A: The CARSTAR SuperStang will make approximately 40 appearances at Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraising events and high profile car collector events in conjunction with local CARSTAR Collision Service facility golf tournaments, car shows and cruise events.
